CUSTOMER NOTICE If you intend to take a Europcar hire car out of the UK and into another country post-Brexit then, in addition to our written consent (the VE103B), you will also need to show proof of insurance cover. When you purchase our Europdrive Breakdown Cover or our Cross-Border pack (whichever one applies to your trip and provides essential breakdown cover) then, if you are driving the hire car under our collision damage waiver cover (CDW), we will supply you with this proof of insurance in the form of a “Green Card”.
Europdrive is Europcar's cross-border breakdown product that is mandatory* for customers if they wish to take their UK hire abroad. Whether you're just visiting Rep. of Ireland, crossing the channel to Calais or going on a longer cruise, Europdrive is essential. As Europdrive is mandatory, Europcar reserves the right to cancel the whole booking if Europdrive is not purchased alongside
We offer one way services domestically and internationally. This is bookable via our online tool Click4Wheels, GDS and phone bookings. Note that one way fees and conditions vary depending on the country and vehicle type and model. Vehicles should not be driven to another continent.
We offer delivery and collection services domestically and internationally. This is bookable GDS and phone bookings. In the UK, deliveries can me made to home addresses however note that this is not the case worldwide. Some countries only offer business addresses deliveries, our reservations department will be able to advise the restrictions in each country.
Some of our vehicles are equipped with fitted GPS, however this cannot be guaranteed. If this is a must for your client, please ensure you add it when booking.
- - Vouchers cannot be issued in Canada and USA
- - Credit card payments are accepted in both countries
The main driver’s name should appear on the credit card. Most station will not accept debit cards
- - What is the name and first name of driver?
- - What is the place for pick-up?
- - What is the date for pick-up?
- - What is the time for pick-up (in case of airport/railways, please ask to provide with the flight number or train number in order to wait for your customer in case of delays?)
- - What is the place for drop-off?
- - What is the date for drop-off?
- - What is the time for drop-off?
- - What car group is needed?
- - Please check if the customer is travelling with children under 10 years old? If yes, what is their age, weight & height (in order to book the right mandatory adapted seat)?
- - Please check if other equipment (for ex., navigation system, snow chains, etc.) is needed?
- - Will there be any additional drivers?
- - Will the driver(-s) be under 26 years old at time of rental?
- - Will the main driver have a credit card at his/her name and first name?
- Local driving licence: You will need to present your normal driving licence, issued by your country of residence and held for a minimum period according to local legislation or conditions. It will be requested at every rental.
- International driving licence: before the rental, please check if your Local Driving Licence is enough to drive the car in the country you are travelling to. Please keep in mind that International Driving Licence is only valid when accompanied with your Local Driving Licence!
Identification documents required: An identification document, such as a passport or ID card may also be required. The driver licence is not sufficient.
Full credit voucher: no credit card will be required on collection of the car Exception: Italy and Abu Dhabi
Specified value vouchers: amount could be anything, please note that a credit card will be required on collection of the car
Credit card: A valid credit card in the name of the main driver must be presented on collection
Cancellation Policy
Reservations may be cancelled as follows:
- You may cancel the reservation free of charge up to 48h before the rental is due to start. Prepaid reservations that are cancelled on the date of pick-up or less than 48h before the rental pick-up time are fully refunded less a fee according to country of rental. This amount will be charged either in local currency or in your billing currency, where applicable and at the exchange rate & conditions valid at time of transaction.- Please refer to No Show policy.
No Show Policy
- In case of a Customer failing to show up at the station at the due pick up time and when the means of payment chosen at the reservation time is voucher, then the relevant Europcar Operational Entity shall invoice the TA/TO a no show fee.
- - In case of a Customer failing to show up at the station at the due pick up time and when the means of payment chosen at the reservation time is credit card (pay now & pay later options) with its details provided at the time of reservation, then the relevant Europcar Operational Entity shall invoice the Customer a no show fee.
If the rental amount is less than a no show fee, whole rental amount will be charged to the TA/TO/Customer If the rental amount of the prepaid reservation is more than a no show fee, then the TA/TO/Customer may claim back the amount difference.
Reservations with Net Rates: - In case of a Customer failing to show up at the station at the due pick up time, then the relevant Europcar Operational Entity shall invoice the TA/TO a no show fee.
- Unless a full credit voucher has been issued, a deposit will required.
- When the customer arrives at the rental location, he will be asked to leave a deposit for his/her rental. The deposit amount will be authorized/blocked on the credit card, but not debited from the bank account. The deposit is intended to cover additional rental costs.
- The amount is calculated as follows: - For non prepaid rentals: Rental price + 300€/250£ (or equivalent amount in renting currency) - For fully prepaid rentals: 300€/250£ (or equivalent amount in renting currency) - Exception for full credit voucher in Italy, a credit card is ALWAYS required and an authorization of 100€ will be required.
